40 by Christmas: Week 4

Last week was a bad week. Mama Bean and I started EA Sports Active (but then only completed 2 workouts all week), I didn’t bike at all (i’m having minor knee issues again and wanted to give them a break, I’m going to start wearing a knee brace when riding), and I had a couple of feeling-sorry-for-myself days when I over ate. But, my overall caloric intake is still down, something I make a priority every day. I’m also working on drinking more water and reducing my sodium intake (staying super hydrated really does make a difference in terms of cravings, thanks for the suggestions commenters!)

But, today is my birthday (another post coming on that later) so I  hoped on the scale with high hopes this morning, not wanting to start the day on a discouraging note. And you know what?!? I broke 230!! I’m 229.6!! That’s down almost 3lbs from last week, and totally got my day started on the right foot.

Goals for this week: I really want to get started on counting points a la (i can’t figure out the accent) Weight Watchers. I’m also going to cut my daily cups of coffee (with cream and sugar) out of my diet. I bought some yummy tea that I’m going to start drinking more often. I want to pickup one of those loose tea holders and mug so I can be one of those pretentious tea drinkers. ;)

Someone even made a comment at church yesterday that I was looking, “svelte.” And seriously, all it takes are little comments to make it all worth it. I can’t wait to go home at Christmas and be 40lbs lighter than the last time I saw anyone. Folks are always making comments about my weight, so there’ll be a little satisfaction. :)
