I’ve been feeling more than a little overwhelmed by life lately, and really, I have no one to blame but myself. I spread myself too thin. I try to do too much, and end up doing nothing well. I’ve spent the last hour and a half laying in bed with my mind going a million [...]

My wife and I love gardening and have two gardens. One is a 1800sq.ft. monstrosity which is part of a community garden plot, and at home we have a 4′x12′ raised bed in our back yard. Due to a mix of poor planning and poor weather we only got 1/2 of our 1800 sq.ft planted, [...]

I love Spring! After 5 months of cold and snow, I am ready for the warm air of spring. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big winter fan, but the transition seasons are my favorite. I love that I can go outside in just a hoodie or light jacket. I love that I don’t have [...]

Alright, things I learned today. A 1500 sq.ft garden (which we thought was 1800, but it’s actually 25×60, not 30×60) is much more manageable when it is split into 10 mini gardens. We now have 10 150sq.ft gardens and it seems much more manageable. It is much easier to till a 1500 sq.ft garden with [...]

So Mama Bean and I got a bit of a surprise when we went to check out our community garden plot. Originally we thought it was about 12′x36′, so about 400sqft, which is pretty friggin huge. We had checked it out a couple of weeks ago and saw some stakes so we assumed that was [...]
